2027 Mid Central Region Convention
June 3-6, 2027
Hosted by Cincinnati Division 7
of the Mid Central Region (MCR)
of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA)
We're planning action-packed and full-featured attractions for The Cincinnatian including a superb hotel, numerous layouts, clinics, workshops and outside excursions, as well as the contest, raffle, banquet, a large white elephant sale and lots of fellowship opportunities!
We plan to have about 70 layouts open (several conducting op sessions, 47 published), numerous clinics (3 large regular rooms + a hands-on/make’ n take room with several 3 hour long workshops), and fantastic rail and general interest tours. The hotel is very nice, new and modern, with free parking. We're also working with the superb hotel restaurant to add grab 'n go sandwich offerings for those wishing for a fast breakfast and lunch.
We’ve also lined up several featured guest clinicians including Lou and Cheryl Sassi, Dr. Cinthia Priest and Stephen Priest, MMR, and Craig Fuller. Cheryl will lead a make ’n take model tree clinic. Craig Fuller, the CEO of Firecrown Media, will be both our banquet speaker as well as a clinician, where he’ll provide an update on the Motion Museum he’s planning to build in Chattanooga (including the locos, rolling stock and structures from the former EnterTRAINment Junction) as well as the status of changes for Trains.com and the former Kalmbach magazines he purchased.
We're excited about all these opportunities, and hope to see you here in 2027 as we continue to renew old friendships and make new ones. Please see below for more information, convention shirt purchases, important documents and email links to key contacts. Convention registrations will begin about February 2026.

We're very pleased to announce we've secured a fabulous hotel for all of us to enjoy, the Holiday Inn Cincinnati North - West Chester. The hotel is nice, new and modern, with free parking. The meeting spaces are large and all are conveniently located on the same ground floor wing. We're also working with the superb hotel restaurant to add grab 'n go sandwich offerings for those wishing for a fast breakfast and lunch, in addition to a buffet breakfast.
We've secured both King and Twin Queen rooms for our lodging rooms, each at a discounted rate of $159/night plus tax. Reservations can be made starting 9 months before the convention, about September of 2026. We'll post the group code and special weblink for you to make your reservations.

Cincinnati Div 7 is blessed with a large number of quality layouts. About 70 will be open for this convention, spread across all 4 days, with different geographic areas open each morning, afternoon and evening. Several of these layouts will be open for guest operating sessions, across all 4 days. Amazingly, 47 of our active layouts have been published. Two incredible layouts will be featured as Thursday afternoon early bird special open houses - Larry Bonhaus' N-scale PRR pike and Bob Lawson's new HO-scale Southern Ry empire. See the Area Layouts page for photo collages of most of the layouts in Division 7.

We’re pleased to announce our convention shirts are now available for everyone to order and enjoy. They are Royal Blue with our convention logo embroidered on the chest in stunning yellow lined graphics and silver text.
3 types of shirts are available – one long sleeve and two short sleeve polos. There are variations for gender, pocket or not, and standard or tall lengths. The two polos differ by fiber types and weight. The long sleeve is a nice button-down twill shirt, in a cotton/poly blend, with a navy lining.
Ordering is self-serve via a user-friendly on-line system. You also have your choice of 3 delivery options 1) UPS to your home (extra fare), 2) pickup at our Cincinnati Division 7 monthly meetings, or 3) pickup at the registration desk at our convention. See the attached flyer for photos, pricing and other info. Click here for the ordering link. Its also on the flyer.
